Sanjiva is not an injection-only or facial-only studio. Microneedling is planned within a physician-owned practice that can evaluate scars, pigment, medications, healing risk and whether another treatment would work better.
When useful, VISIA skin analysis can document pores, texture, spots, redness and sun damage before treatment. It helps separate acne scarring from pigment and gives patients a more objective baseline.
A patient with rolling scars, active melasma and recent sun exposure needs a different plan than a patient with enlarged pores and mild texture. Device depth, session count, intervals and combination treatments should reflect those differences.

Depth is the most important variable in microneedling. Your Sanjiva provider adjusts it zone by zone — shallower over thin skin like the under-eyes, deeper over scar tissue — so every area gets the right stimulus.

Deeper passes (1.5–2.5mm) over boxcar and rolling scars while new collagen builds beneath. Most patients see meaningful softening over 3–6 sessions, often paired with PRP or exosomes. Back and body scarring can also be treated.
Mid-depth full-face passes stimulate uniform collagen that smooths rough patches and firms the framework around pore walls — pores look smaller because the structure supporting them is tighter.
Because SkinPen is non-thermal, it avoids the heat that can aggravate melasma with some lasers. Conservative depths, longer intervals and strict SPF matter. Melasma needs an individualized, physician-guided plan.
SkinPen carries specific FDA clearance for neck wrinkles. Crepey neck and chest skin and aging hands respond to conservative depths over a series of three or more sessions.
